Reflection

Hello Ladies,

This semester’s journey to self-discovery has been one for the books! As I end this last spring semester of undergrad. I would like to shed light on two memorable aspects of the blogging experience the Strategic Presentation course has shown me. Experience 1) Choosing my topic–fashion. Originally, I planned to base my semester’s project on something familiar or a topic I was already knowledgable about– like RAing as that was my current role But I decided to take the challenge of studying something that I was NOT at all well versed in. Embarking on this journey, exposed me to the untapped potential I had already inside of me that needed to be cultivated and sharpened. Experience 2) discovering how to create a website using WordPress Linkedin tutorial. Ladies, the feeling it was to see a site that was is your very own! Looking at a creation that I created was remarkable. In the moment I wasn’t just Alexis the college student, singer, or RA but Alexis the website owner sharing a brand that had her fingerprint in it.

So closing this blog I leave you with two sentiments.

  • Each one teaches one- don’t forget as you are growing to help another sister and share your testimony! Your story could be the key that unlocks another’s potential.
  • Go Bold- You are created for more than just what you see. Look with Faith’s eyes and start. So many times I’ve prevented myself from doing a particular hairstyle I liked or buying the clothes that fit the aesthetic I was into because I felt helpless and sunken to learned helplessness feeling defeated before even starting. Yet, this does not have to be the end of your story! What you don’t know—search it out and do. Learn as you go. For you will grow. Pursue a growth mindset, not perfectionist.

Until the next time Fashionistas, remember to continue to stir the spark toward Self-discovery, Confidence, Innovation, and working and playing in Living color.

Love,

Alexis A. ❤
