The memes on Knowyourmeme.com were inappropriate or unfruitful for the target audience of women of color and website purpose so I chose my own and added text to two of the chosen images.

1- The first meme relates to my theme because it displays a woman of color stepping into her “New,” with a changed mindset and heart. No longer is she holding on to the bricks of self-hatred, doubt, pain, hurt, unforgiveness nor defeat but is bringing into the New with God, focus, peace, etc. This meme is a visual of what starting a new chapter or simple starting with confidence is needed.  2- The second relates to my theme because it shows a businesswoman in attire focusing on her computer suggesting that she’s focused on her business or task at hand. This serves as a reminder to the audience to do work with joy and that there can be enjoyment in work/ enjoyment can exist simultaneously in work. 3-The Third meme adds a humorous balance to the mix as viewers participate in the viral social media trend of Little Miss meme pics. This is a reminder for women of color to remain confident.

My second meme’s behavior can be categorized as for use. The trend of Little Miss has gone across many accounts as users alter and take on the template of this trend and create different memes under the name Little Miss.

The other two memes are viewable but have the potential to be sent out as encouragement to friend groups, work buddies, and etc.

I believe the manifestations of my chosen images (1)- the steps portrait with a women of color climbing them and leaving behind the weight of negativity and onto the new, (2)- slightly blurred background, focus on the model, white and green color contrast throughout the image, and  (3)- white background, black centered lettering, and bright rich colors of the animated character. The specific manifestations give an elegant look on the contrast of business and fashion wear for women of color. Being that this audience are those looking for clothing that will bring a classy look to their wardrobe, memes that are supportive and elegant in nature are what my target audience will benefit from.
